Preparing for Audit

Primarily, the ACP audit ensures that all AGWA members manufacture their products in accordance with Australian Standards AS  2047 and AS  1288. It also reviews other aspects of your business such as skills, training and safety in the workplace. The cost of an audit is included in your annual membership fee and is a condition of AGWA membership.

At the end of successful completion of the audit you will receive certificates in the 3 Pillars - Compliance; Skills and Training; and Safety which can be displayed in your showroom. These are valuable marketing tools that can be used to clearly differentiate you from your competitors who rely on self-certification. You will also receive the current ACP Logo for company use. Any areas of non-compliance that are identified can be viewed as opportunities for potential improvement for your subsequent audit.
The AGWA auditor who has been assigned to assist you in the audit process has decades of industry experience and can be relied upon to guide you through your first audit. They will contact you directly to arrange a mutually agreeable date and time to visit. The audit generally takes about 1.5 - 2 hours but this can vary so allow up to 3 hours  for a first-time audit.

A few weeks prior to your audit you will  receive an email from your auditor with a checklist attached that outlines the information and documentation that you will need to have ready on the day. The checklist allows you to be fully prepared and know what is required.

We trust that you will find your first audit with AGWA a valuable experience and on behalf of your auditor and the AGWA Accreditation team we would like to wish you all the very best.

When a member is found non-compliant at audit they are sent a letter (attached) and asked to respond with a remedial action within 14 days. A remedial action template is sent to them which they must complete and demonstrate that a remedial action has been undertaken to rectify the non-compliance.

  3. If a reply is not forthcoming within 14 days, notification will be provided in writing to the site manager requesting immediate attention.
