Insulating Glass Manufacturers Affiliation

Interest and investment in insulated glazing is growing in Australia. As a premium glazing product, it is important that an Insulated Glazing Unit (IGU) upholds Australian Standards, is durable and meets customer performance expectations.

To ensure that the IGU industry maintains and develops Standards and innovations for high quality products, AGWA formed a sub-committee called the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Affiliation (IGMA). The affiliation works with industry to develop IGU Standards and informs members of the latest technologies and methods.

An IGU manufacturer must comply to the requirements of AS/NZS 4666. IGMA members are supported with technical assistance and testing rebates to help offset some of the compliance costs. IGMA also assists potential new members with challenges they may face with IGU supplier compliance issues.

IGMA seeks to advocate and communicate the many benefits of IGUs and create demand for high quality, compliant products for our members.

There are many benefits in becoming an IGMA member, including:

  • Advocacy with Government, the wider industry and consumers.
  • Opportunities to take part in training and educational seminars.
  • Access to substantial testing rebates.
  • The latest information about industry developments and changes to Regulations, including access to resources on the AGWA and IGMA North America websites.
  • A collaborative forum to network with other manufacturers and suppliers to discuss best practice in IGU manufacturing.
