Membership Categories

AGWA offers a range of membership types based on industry role and turnover.


Multiple Sector Membership


Australian Glass & Window Association Multiple Sector Membership includes Membership to the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS).

A company shall be eligible for Multiple Sector Membership if they:

  • Have multiple businesses that meet the criteria below and have a combined turnover of $50 million or more:
  • Are engaged in manufacturing products such as, but not limited to; windows; doors; curtain walls; shop fronts and entrances; skylights; space enclosures; and related products; and/or
  • Are engaged in the manufacturing or processing of glass products such as, but not limited to toughened glass; laminated glass; insulated glass units; splashbacks; shower screen glass; processed glass; and related products; and/or
  • Are engaged in the importation of products such as, but not limited to; windows; doors; curtain walls; shop fronts and entrances; skylights; space enclosures; and related products; and/or
  • Are engaged in the resale of products manufactured by another party such as, but not limited to; windows; doors; curtain walls; shop fronts and entrances; skylights; space enclosures; and related products; and/or do so in its own facilities or under its direct control; and
  • Meet the eligibility standards approved by the board of directors.

A Multiple Sector Member is entitled to vote in the affairs of the Association and is eligible to hold office within the Association.


Prime Window System Suppliers Membership

The AGWA Prime Window System Supplier Membership category is a company membership. It includes membership of the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS).

  • A company shall be eligible for Prime Window System Suppliers Membership if they:
  • Are engaged in the design, testing and distribution of components and fabrication instructions on behalf of franchisees and purchasers to produce products such as, but not limited to; windows; doors; curtain walls; shop fronts and entrances; skylights; space enclosures; and related products; and
  • Meet the eligibility standards approved by the board of directors.

A Prime Window System Supplier Member is entitled to vote in the affairs of the Association and is eligible to hold office within the Association.


Manufacturer Membership

AGWA Manufacturer Membership includes Membership to the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS).

A company shall be eligible for Manufacturer Membership if they:

  • Are engaged in manufacturing products such as, but not limited to; windows; doors; curtain walls; shop fronts and entrances; skylights; space enclosures; and related products; or
  • Are engaged in the importation of products such as, but not limited to; windows; doors; curtain walls; shop fronts and entrances; skylights; space enclosures; and related products; or
  • Are engaged in the resale of products manufactured by another party such as, but not limited to; windows; doors; curtain walls; shop fronts and entrances; skylights; space enclosures; and related products; and
  • Do so in its own facilities or under its direct control; and
  • Meet the eligibility standards approved by the board of directors.

A Manufacturer Member is entitled to vote in the affairs of the Association and is eligible to hold office within the Association. 


Glass Processor Membership


Australian Glass & Window Association Glass Processor Membership includes Membership to the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS).

A company shall be eligible for Glass Processor Membership if they:

  • Are engaged in the manufacturing or processing of glass products such as, but not limited to toughened glass; laminated glass; insulated glass units; splashbacks; shower screen glass; processed glass; and related products; and
  • Do so in its own facilities or under its direct control; and
  • Meet the eligibility standards approved by the board of directors.

A Glass Processor Member is entitled to vote in the affairs of the Association and is eligible to hold office within the Association.


Importer Glass (Glass Merchant) Membership

A company shall be eligible for Glass Importers Membership if they:

  • Are engaged in the importation of glass products for resale to the Australian market; and
  • Meet the eligibility standards approved by the board of directors.

A Glass Importer Member is entitled to vote in the affairs of the Association and is eligible to hold office within the Association.


Installation Membership (Glazier/Window Installer)

A company shall be eligible for Installation Membership if they:

  • Are engaged in cutting; installing; removing glass (and materials used as substitutes for glass, such as some plastics); manufacture and installation of shower screens; glass balustrades; glass pool fencing; splashbacks; glazing of windows; doors; shop fit outs; and other products; or
  • Are engaged in the installation of windows; doors, shop fronts and entrances; skylights and related products; and
  • Meet the eligibility standards approved by the board of directors.

An Installation Member is entitled to vote in the affairs of the Association and is eligible to hold office within the Association.


Supplier/SERVICE Membership

AGWA Supplier/Service Membership has the option to become a member of WERS (Window Energy Rating Scheme). Any company not eligible for Prime Window System Supplier, Manufacturer, Importer or Installer Membership, shall be eligible for Supplier/Service Membership if they:

  • Are a producer of materials or components used by Manufacturer Members; or
  • Are a supplier of services to: Prime Window System Supplier, Manufacturer, Importer; Installer or Supplier Members or persons trading in that manner; building owners, whether such supply is direct or indirect, and
  • Meet the eligibility standards approved by the board of directors.

A Supplier Member is entitled to vote in the affairs of the association and is eligible to hold office within the association.

 


Professional Membership

A person who is not eligible for, nor employed by a person eligible for, Prime Window System Supplier, Manufacturer, Importer, Installer or Supplier Membership. A person shall be eligible for Professional Membership if they:

  • Are engaged in a profession involving windows, doors, curtain walls, shopfronts, skylights, glass, and related products for residential, commercial, institutional or industrial new construction or remodelling, and
  • Meet the eligibility standards approved by the board of directors.

A Professional Member is not entitled to vote in the affairs of the Association nor are they eligible to hold office within the Association. Some examples of people that may fulfil the criteria for Professional Membership are: Building Surveyor, Builder, Architect, Designer, Thermal Assessor, etc.


Student Membership

A person who is not eligible for, nor employed by a person eligible for, Prime Window System Supplier, Manufacturer, Importer, Installer, Supplier, Service or Professional Membership shall be eligible for Student Membership if they:

  • Are enrolled in tertiary or vocational study at any level of university, accredited non-profit college or vocational technical institution, in an engineering, technical or associated diploma, degree, or trade focused on the design or construction of buildings, or building products related to the industry.
  • Meet the eligibility standards approved by the board of directors.

A Student Member is not entitled to vote in the affairs of the Association nor are they eligible to hold office within the Association.


IGMA Membership - INSULATING GLASS MANUFACTURERS ALLIANCE

IGMA Membership is a standalone membership available to manufacturers, importers of Insulated Glass Units (IGU) and suppliers of products, services and machinery involved in the manufacture of IGU’s.

To be a member of IGMA you must hold a membership in another category of AGWA.

IGMA Australia is a member of IGMA North America (IGMA NA) and all IGMA Australia members are encouraged to become members of IGMA NA. Once becomming a member of IGMA NA they then gain access to a world leading library of tools that includes IGMA NA's technical manuals, reports and bulletins.


EDUCATION MEMBERSHIP

Education Membership is for vocational education and training providers such as TAFEs and RTOs, and for individuals employed by these providers.

An education member is not entitled to vote in the affairs of the Association nor are they eligible to hold office within the Association.
