Machine Safety

PCBU Duties for Contractors
SafeWork Australia has just published a great document covering your duties to contractors in your workplace. Many of us don’t realise we owe them duties as well, so please take some time to read this: https://lnkd.in/grdpRFMR

Conferences

Youth Week
SafeWork NSW has launched NSW Youth Week 2024 with a Young Worker eTool Kit filled with information for young workers, employers, parents and educators. The Section on Employers includes a lot of information on how you can support young workers in the safety space. This can be useful anywhere across Australia and it is well worth a look: https://lnkd.in/geScMjMB.

Adult Apprentice Rates
Fair Work Australia has launched a useful Pay Rates Calculator looking at pay rates and clearing up some confusion about adult apprentices (over 21 years). If you are unsure the tool can guide, you to the correct Award and the correct rate of pay: https://lnkd.in/f2zYA22

SA Safety Alerts
SafeWork SA has issued some alerts to remind people of dangers in the workplace following incidents that have occurred. The resources are particularly useful and can apply across the country so take a look: https://ow.ly/Z7NN50R8XIw

World Day and Workers’ Memorial Day
SafeWork Australia reminds us that Sunday 28 April is a day dedicated to the memory of workers who have died in the workplace. It is also to raise awareness for preventative WHS measures. See what resources they have available: https://lnkd.in/gWgyr24Y
